Ceres Water Turf Replacement Rebate

Requirements

• Apply and get approval before removing any lawn.
• Mulch the converted area.
• If irrigated, drip with a pressure regulator, filter and emitters rated under 2 gallons per hour; remaining lawn sprinklers adjusted to miss the converted area.
• Only property owners served directly by the City of Ceres. Mail the signed application, a recent water bill, 4 or 5 photos of the lawn and a sketch of the new design to the Water Conservation Program, 2220 Hackett Road, Ceres, CA 95307, then wait for the pre-qualification inspection and a reservation number before starting. • At least 100 sq ft of live lawn irrigated for the past year (less if it removes all the lawn). Finish within 45 days of approval; the converted area stays compliant for 5 years.
• Very low to moderate water use plants, one per 5 by 5 feet; no invasive plants; buffalo grass counts as turf. Cover exposed soil with 2 to 3 inches of permeable mulch; impermeable surfaces only for walkways, and no pools.

Steps, in order

1. Apply on City of Ceres Water’s site and wait for approval. Lawn removed before approval usually does not qualify.
2. Remove the lawn and plant to the requirements above.
3. Send what the program page asks for once the work is done.
