VOMWD Cash for Grass Turf Rebate

Requirements

• Apply and get approval before removing any lawn.
• Mulch the converted area.
• Remove the lawn sprinklers; water the new plants by drip on a separate valve (no spray heads).
• Homeowners with Valley of the Moon water service; commercial buildings, government-owned dwellings and landscapes watered from a well don't qualify.
• Call (707) 996-1037 for a pre-inspection first: the lawn must be green, mowed and irrigated. Finish within 120 days of approval and have the post-inspection in that window.
• Replace the lawn with low-water plants or vegetable gardens with mulch; no pool, building extension or hardscape. Don't reinstall turf, or the rebate must be repaid.
• Mail the application with original receipts for mulch and drip parts to Valley of the Moon Water District, PO Box 280, El Verano, CA 95433. Materials only; no labor.

Steps, in order

1. Apply on Valley of the Moon Water District’s site and wait for approval. Lawn removed before approval usually does not qualify.
2. Remove the lawn and plant to the requirements above.
3. Send what the program page asks for once the work is done.
