Colton Water Turf Removal Program

Requirements

• Apply and get approval before removing any lawn.
• Drip irrigation or hand watering with the drought-tolerant plants, unless the city allows otherwise.
• Active Colton Water Utility customers (the owner, or the customer of record with the owner's permission). Mail the application with a drawing of the planned project to the Colton Water Department, 650 N. La Cadena Dr., Colton, CA 92324, and get pre-approval before starting. (909) 370-6145.
• Finish within four months of approval; projects are limited to 2,500 sq ft, larger ones case by case. The city may inspect before and after; the check is mailed within six weeks of verification.
• Separate rebates cover drought-tolerant plants, efficient sprinkler heads, drip irrigation, weather-based timers and mulch or gravel.

2. Remove the lawn and plant to the requirements above.
3. Send what the program page asks for once the work is done.
