Folsom Water Cash for Grass - Turf Replacement Rebate Program

Requirements

• Apply and get approval before removing any lawn.
• Replant with low-water or native plants.
• Single-family homes only: the owner of record, or their authorized representative, applies as a City of Folsom water customer in good standing. San Juan Water District customers in Folsom apply to SJWD instead.
• Apply online and get approval before starting; start within 30 days of approval and finish within 90 days, with no exceptions.
• The application gives the lawn's square footage (staff check it on Google Earth; a gap over 10% means a site visit) and five current color photos, one showing the street number.
• After the project, email five photos to conservationrebates@folsom.ca.us with the address as the subject, plus a W-9 in the applicant's name.
• One lawn replacement rebate per residence. Funding is limited, first come, first served; the City answers within about 3 weeks.

Steps, in order

1. Apply on City of Folsom Water’s site and wait for approval. Lawn removed before approval usually does not qualify.
2. Remove the lawn and plant to the requirements above.
3. Send what the program page asks for once the work is done.
