NID Turf Removal Rebate Program

Requirements

• Apply and get approval before removing any lawn.
• Remove turf grass and replace with water-efficient landscape; depending on conversion methods, customers may also qualify for additional device rebates (weather-based controllers, soil moisture sensors, rotating nozzles, rain barrels/cisterns).
• Residential treated-water customers only; rebate is per residential meter.
• Minimum 250 sqft of turf must be converted (if property has less than 250 sqft of turf, all turf must be removed).
• Funding limited; first-come, first-served when open.
• Application/availability via Water Efficiency Technician (530-273-6185 ext. 1244).

Steps, in order

1. Apply on Nevada Irrigation District’s site and wait for approval. Lawn removed before approval usually does not qualify.
2. Remove the lawn and plant to the requirements above.
3. Send what the program page asks for once the work is done.
