Brentwood Water Convert for Cash Water Conservation Rebate

Requirements

• Apply and get approval before removing any lawn.
• At least 50% of the area in low-water or native plants.
• The lawn must be in the front yard or another area the public can see; at least 300 sq ft unless city staff approve less.
• Owners apply. Mail the application, with a sketch and measurements of the lawn, to Public Works, 2201 Elkins Way, Bldg C, Brentwood, CA 94513 (Attention: Rebate Program). Review takes about 10 business days, and staff may call and inspect before approving.
• Finish within 6 months of the Authorization to Proceed, then call (925) 516-5373 for the post-inspection; payment follows within about a month.
• The maximum covers every rebate on the account: drip conversion ($1 per linear foot) and smart controllers ($12 a station) count toward it. Businesses and buildings of 5 or more units get up to $5,000; buildings of 2 to 4 units get the $1,000 home maximum, which the estimate uses for apartments.

Steps, in order

1. Apply on City of Brentwood Water’s site and wait for approval. Lawn removed before approval usually does not qualify.
2. Remove the lawn and plant to the requirements above.
3. Send what the program page asks for once the work is done.
